welcome!
Jujo Ceramics is run by Josie, a potter living and working in rural North Northumberland. Her wheel-thrown work in stonewear is an ongoing and playful experimentation inspired by the harsh yet surprising landscapes she calls home- shaped by local folk tales, historical fashion and food.
After years of exploration as a chef, along with studies in fashion design and creative writing, Josie moved to Denmark to study slip-casting in porcelain, a turning point that cemented her love of ceramics. Having lived and studied in Newcastle, she later made the bold move to rural Northumberland, leaving behind the urban rat race. Though sometimes isolating, the move has proven to be wild, generous, and the best decision she has ever made.
In April, following some significant life changes, Josie moved into the Cornhill On Tweed Centre and set up shop, where she has been developing her skills and continuing her quest to refine her personal style. Alongside her studio practice, she runs “Glazed and Confused” in Berwick-a consistently sold-out pottery supper club combining a three-hour workshop with a two-course meal prepared by herself.
Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming events, happenings and, most importantly, pots.
